Vaduz - modern capital and the cultural centre of the state Liechtenstein - the small princedom which are possessed in the Central Europe between Austria and Switzerland and not having an access to the sea. The city is in a valley of the river Rhine near to border with Switzerland and takes one of mountain slopes «Drei Schwestern» («Three sisters»).
According to historical data the city has been based in XIII century as feudal possession (county) by order of the column Verdenbergsky. In chronicles there is a mention of the strength based in IX century and definitively constructed in 1322 which in 1499 was taken by Switzerland.
Throughout several centuries in this area existed two princedoms of Sacred Roman empire - Shelleberg and Vaduz. As a result of association of these princedoms in 1719 there was a state Liechtenstein.

The Large part of the population of a city is made by Swisses, about 5 % of the population - foreigners. Prevailing religion - Catholic Christianity.
In state capital there is a lock of the prince and a parliament building. The national museum, a mail museum and an art gallery which belongs to princely family also concern places of interest of a city. On a main city street of Shtedle buildings of a government bank and managements of various firms and joint-stock companies, museums and shops take places an urban town hall. The residence of all official bodies of Liechtenstein is in one building in the capital centre.

the Flag Vaduz represents a rectangular panel with unusual proportions 4: 1. Drawing consists of three vertical strips, two red colours and one white. Beginning from a flagstaff there is a red strip to a total length quarter, then same white, trace red in half of length of a flag.

the Arms the cities of Vaduzs represent the traditional heraldic board of the Spanish form crosswisely divided into 4 equivalent parts. The first and the fourth weeding (top right and bottom left parts) are coloured in silver (white) colour, the second and the third (top left and bottom right parts) - in red. On each silver part the plotting of a traditional princely crown executed by red colour is seated. On red fields the identical plotting of a silver church banner and three rings over it place. This silver banner on the arms serves as a reminder that count Hartmann of III Vardenberg-Sargans in 1342 has received as a present the earths which now are falling into with Oberland, and a part of territory of Unterland. Also this symbol serves as instructions that columns of Vaduz have based church of the Sacred Florin.
